A highly experienced and talented career coach, Mark is a level 2 coach with the TA and has now joined the Tennis Australia team as a Club Professional. He is also a fully qualified racquet stringing technician using sophisticated electronic machinery and a great variety of strings to ensure your racquet functions to optimal efficiency. Mark has been part of the Australian Open stringing team, has strung racquets for over 10 years and has a passion for making your racquet play the best for you. | Phryne Tonge - Senior Coach/Manager, TA Qualified, Level 2 Club Professional | ||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Phryne Tonge (nee Marlow) played all her junior tennis in England. She was coached by Shirley Brasher, Tony Lloyd and Tony Mottram. She was County Champion in both singles, doubles and mixed from u/12 to u/18, was part of the National Squad and played at National Level from U/12 to U/18, her best result being runner up the the u/14 doubles. She did not follow the tournament path but achieved both her Level 1 & 2 LTA (UK) coaching qualifications. Phryne decided to follow her passion for Law at University during which she earned her full colours by taking the University team further than they had every got in the inter-university championships. Having worked for 10 years in various office roles, she decided to return to her passion - teaching tennis and and has worked as a highly motivated and enthusiastic coach for the past 11 years. | Ross Jones - TPAA, Australia, Denmark & Sweden | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Ross was the 1996
Australian Champion 60's and over. His playing achievements span his
lifetime and have given him a maturity and wealth of experience difficult to
equal.
Ross played junior Davis cup tennis for Australia and for many years was responsible for king cup tennis for Sweden. He has been the Australian national champion 55 and 60's in both doubles and singles and the winner of world team championships. Ross is the author of a book on Swedish tennis. Ross has been a highly valued member of our coaching team for many years. |

| John Lange - USPTR | ||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() John returned to playing tennis after many years, having spent a successful career in "Big Business". One of his roles as Divisional National Training Manager has provided an excellent background context for tennis coaching. He expanded his coaching skills while on temporary residence in the USA as a member of United States Professional Tennis Registry, and applied some of those skills in assisting the head coach at NYU. He currently plays competitively in Tennis Vets in Australia and overseas, and has been an integral part of Artarmon Academy of Tennis for many years. |

| Kristine Radford - Guest Coach | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Kristine
has been a guest coach with AAT for many years. Kristine is a former Australian No.1
player who has represented Australia in the Federation Cup and
whose career highlights include reaching the Wimbledon doubles
semi finals and the last 16 in the Wimbledon singles.
Peter was Kristine's coach during her professional career on
